Burning Man’s theme of Evolution commanded our hearts to step up and let go as the playa consciousness had her way with us once again. The playa is an almost indescribable master teacher, offering an extreme full-body experience and a mirror of golden dust to reflect upon one’s self and community.

Everything I know and everything I am just discovering about myself – all the facets of light and shadow within me – is amplified in her heat. The magic of the playa has offered prolific trance channeling experiences, increased confidence as a spirit walker, and a sacred space to unearth resources of internal energy for another year of creativity. It has also afforded me cold full moon journeys with my shadow self, experiencing grief on new levels and how to reach out to my community when I am lost in the dust storms of being human.

As my evolutionary week progressed, I spoke to one community member after another and the resounding question was: “where’s my family?” It appears that Great Spirit spread us far and wide across the playa this year, instead of being collectively concentrated in several main theme camps. It was a fascinating reflection for a community who so values their time together to be fanned out across the desert in a more individual or small circle experience.

I asked Spirit about this collective experience of feeling somewhat isolated but knowing your community was out there – somewhere – holding it down and having fun. I was shown a vision: in my third eye a 3-dimensional map of the playa opened with all those in our community who serve Great Spirit spread out in their individual camps far and wide.

Every person was a column of golden energy that extended high into the stars and anchored deep into the earth. As golden columns, we were receiving light language codes from above, grounding the spiritual keys and radiating their transmissions out in our energetic fields where we camped, served, and played all over the playa.

With the theme of evolution, thousands had descended upon the playa to shift their consciousness – whether they knew it or not. Spirit showed me that lightworkers were needed everywhere, in small teams or as individuals, lighting up the grid of Black Rock City and holding it down as 60,000+ people experienced the evolution only a teacher like the playa can offer.

The teaching was also a reminder that we as a united community are being prepared to remain telepathically connected, heart-to-heart, no matter what collective initiation Great Spirit has called us to walk through on behalf of the planet’s ascension.

The playa, like all our festivals, is a training ground of consciousness and this summer, class was in session…

A personal highlight for me was teaching and channeling at the Red Lightning theme camp.

Red Lightning is a collective of priestesses and priests who honor the sacred work of the moon & sun lodge. There were 13 tipis that supported the main tipi of the Moon Lodge where women were given an honored temple space to bleed on the earth.

This summer 2009, channeled material about the sacred moon mysteries began to come through from the Goddess Isis, Mother Mary, Mary Magdalen and a collective consciousness I work with called “The Grandmothers”.

One such declaration was that if every woman on this planet began honoring their moon cycle and bleeding directly on the earth, this planet would spontaneously ascend.

We have a long way to go before our planetary collective consciousness around the sacred blood has risen to that place. However, deep respect & gratitude for the women and men of Red Lightning who took a giant, courageous step forward in re-educating community about the power of the only blood that falls to the earth in peace.

Wednesday I taught a Spirit World 101 class with a community Q&A session. I was moved by the questions and consciousness that was present. It was inspiring to feel how ready people are to deepen their relationship with the spirit world. Many questions that I received came from the inquirer’s own intuition that something was true. It was mostly a process of guiding people away from their insecurities and fears to acknowledge that they already had all the answers within them.

Friday was a fiery collaboration as Adam Apollo, Ka and I held ceremony and taught about working with dragon spirit guides of the divine light. Apparently, the dragon spirits were way into the offering of burning dragon’s blood incense – it was like catnip to them! Multiple times I was led back to the cauldron to honor the enormous amount of released collective energy that was transmuted by the dragons throughout the ceremony. Such a magikal, simple offering to make for such a profound exchange of healing.

Our time together included partner intuitive readings on one another’s dragon spirit guide, dancing with the dragons and a guided meditation to receive a gift from one’s dragon. The workshop built up the energy for a trance channeled message that blew me wide open.

The message came from an ancient, rainbow sheen, white dragon mother so pure that my gut reaction was to start chanting MA over and over again, for this dragon being was truly an embodiment of the divine mother. An enormous spirit, she positioned herself as the guardian of ceremonies at the tipi’s entrance.

I was filled with the understanding that she had recently returned to the earth plane to work with those who are ascending. That her teachings were honored here many eons ago and then she departed because there wasn’t a high enough vibration of consciousness on this planet to support her presence. Well, it’s safe to say she’s back…

As I entered into the trance channeled state of consciousness, leaving behind most of my body for the spirit to move through me, I was quickly on fire. Physiologically it felt like my body was a small boxed in sky that this enormous being could barely fly within but somehow had managed to stuff herself into.

Her claws, teeth, scales and fiery breath filled me, scraping against my insides like hot metal and whipping winds. I was so overwhelmed by what felt like the dragon fires of heaven, I thought for sure the channeling was going to come out like Kali on a bad night. I felt her fierceness so great within me I thought for sure all that would come out of my mouth was inarticulate roaring.

Apparently, from community feedback it was actually one of the softest trance channeled messages that has been spoken through me as a vessel. I was shocked to hear this when I was fully returned to my body. Shocked and relieved. I was filled with gratitude to have somatically experienced the divine mother in all her fire and to find out her words were soft like wings.
